About:

Nutritional genomics describes the scientific approach that integrates genetics, nutrition, chemical exposures and health.

A genetic variation (sometimes called a mutation or single nucleotide polymorphism) means that a gene contains a variation that changes the genes code, which may alter its function. Genetic variations may alter an individual’s risk for health disorders. In addition, genetic variations may influence and be influenced by dietary and nutrient factors.

We all have different genes and different individual dietary and nutrient needs.

This workshop aims to assist you to understand the connection between our genes and environment, focusing on nutrition and harmful chemical exposures in relation to health and wellbeing.

The educational workshop will include Q&As.

Topics Include:

  • The basic functions of genes, cells and nutrition and how these relate to health.
  • The possible underlying triggers and underlying areas of vulnerability.
  • A general diagnostic approach.
  • A general treatment approach.
